Personality:
Positive Trait: RESOURCEFUL

It can be hard to find one's self when one's memories have been shredded from their own mind. The Dark Urge has therefore had to rely on her own resourcefulness to survive and make it day by day. She's intuitive by nature, finding skills that come naturally to her. These tend to be more violent or manipulative talents, ones she's been able to apply to her own survival. The more she practices these skills on the world around her, the more she finds body memory guides her through her natural talents. As such, she tends to lean heavily into these things as they seem to be the only sort of connection to her past that she has. Elodie isn't afraid to apply her skills in any way that suits her ultimate needs, either. She's a soft and near passive bystander in a time of raw chaos, drawing out people's trust in a stranger in times of desperation. She then uses this trust to further her own means - gather information, manipulate a situation, or outright remove what's a possible later deterrent. This is when she'll turn to more violent tendencies to fulfill the Urge in her mind. For her, though, while she prefers the quick and bloody route, she's learned to rely on all her skills to get her through each individual situation. This makes her adaptive, as well, playing the role of a hero when she needs the right ally or killing someone who will most definitely pose a later threat to her. However she has to meet her goals, she'll always find the way to get there.

Negative Trait: LAWFULLY CHAOTIC

One thing that's difficult about being The Dark Urge is that others tend not to understand where Elodie comes from. By societal standards, Elodie would be judged quite chaotic. After all, her (recently discovered) father is one of chaotic evil. However, the reality is that Elodie is governed by her own rules and logic. She doesn't explain either of these often to people, making her behaviors seem chaotic to others. But because violence is second nature to her, murder and other graphic methods of survival are tools that she's willing to use when others aren't. Her logic tends to fall on whether or not the death would further her own ends, though now that she has some knowledge gifted of her birthright, she's started folding in the tenets of her father's religion, as well. Her father may be chaotic, but Elodie is loyal to him and thus follows his needs and commands. Her murder and violence, even in his name, follows what would please him. This shows the lawfulness of her chaos, as it all serves a purpose in the end - either to suit her needs or serve her father. This also stands with what she's learned about her past as the leader of Bhaal's cult. Holding the tenets of her father for all who so desired to follow.

Negative Trait: MANIPULATIVE

It can be hard to know if one truly understands The Dark Urge. The negative side of Elodie's resourcefulness is that she's found being manipulative and lying can get her just as far as the truth sometimes. It's not that she's afraid of her own truth, and in some instances being honest can be just as manipulative as lying, but rather that she's always working towards her goals. At first, freeing herself of the tadpole is her ultimate goal. And upon learning of her heritage, now taking her place as Bhaal's chosen has taken over her mind. So Elodie will do what she needs to meet that goal. For some, it's full honesty of who and what she is. Like with the Bhaal cultists, leaning into her natural tendencies helps them relate to the former assassin more easily. But for others it may be playing the role of the reluctant Bhaalspawn, or hiding that information entirely. Elodie rarely, if ever, feels guilt for the way she manipulates people.

Negative Trait: VIOLENT

As exhibited in her other traits above, violence is a common theme throughout Elodie's life. It permeates throughout her personality, and takes on an air of it's own in the end. Elodie is far too comfortable with violence and murder. Manipulation techniques can suit her needs, but violence fits who she is. If she has the chance to use violence to meet her goals, she'll always take it without regret. The only way she might consider regretting violence is if she miscalculated and violence ends up adding more roadblocks to her goals than removing. This doesn't mean she won't work out how to bypass or remove the blocks again, just that that might make her realize violence wasn't applied appropriately. But where possible, Elodie will happily take the road of violence. Even in her own personal life. This can make her unpredictable to people who don't understand how she thinks and where the violence comes from. As such, it makes her a near constant danger even for those that call her friend.

Powers and Abilities:
| CHARACTER SHEET. ( sorry it's not pretty yet, but the information is accurate and up to date )

Elodie is a draconic sorcerer with a small dip into bardic magic. As such, she relies heavily on magic to augment her natural weapons skills (see weapon proficiencies feat) or to help her navigate the world around her (ie. invisibility to disappear in a tight situation). She was also born a tiefling, giving her access to a few spells from her hellish nature. She's an Elemental Adept (Feat) with fire, making her fire stronger and more likely to burn things resistant to fire damage and make it stronger against those who were already weak to it. Her magic is cast using spell slots, with sorcery points she can expend to make metamagic effects work on her spells (see character sheet for more information) - such as casting area of affect spells without hurting allies or casting spells that require vocal components without her voice. Her bardic nature allows her to channel some magic through her lute, while her draconic ancestry grants her natural armor in the form of scales and stronger fire associated with her draconic bloodline. Additionally, her draconic bloodline allows her the ability to fly up to 18m/6seconds.

Additonally, Elodie is a bhaalspawn. This means she is a 'child' of the dead god of murder, Bhaal. However, unlike previous bhaalspawn born from his loins, she was crafter from his own flesh and created by him as he can no longer bear children. As such, she has always been favored by Bhaal, but after losing her memories she's been earning that favor back. She's recently earned some of that favor back in the form of her Slayer. This allows her to turn into a monstrous creature called the Slayer. The Slayer favors more melee slash and gore and is stronger and faster than Elodie in her natural form. She can only do this transformation once a day.

While Elodie does have an Illithid tadpole in her brain, she has not indulged in the abilities it can grant. As such, it sits in her brain waiting for the command to turn her into an Illithid monster some day. This should have no impact in Duplicity, though, as the Elder Brain cannot command the tadpole from her universe. It will just sit impotently inside her head.

Aside from this, Elodie is a skilled assassin. She is good at stealth, manipulation, insight, deception, persuasion, and other techniques to enhance her assassin skills.
